Manair River Front Project: Work on ‘Manair River Front’ slows down..! What are the reasons..?

Manair River Front Development Project: To turn Karimnagar, which has lost its historical and tourist importance due to redistribution of districts, into a tourist hub, the previous government has sanctioned Rs 470 crore and plans have been made to make the Manair River Front like a second Sabarmati. Preparations have been made for boating, theme park and KCR Island in LMD at Maner Vaagu. It has been decided to complete the river front work within a year. At the same time, elections were coming and the government changed, and the manor riverfront works planned by Maniharam were stopped.

Rs 470 crore project..201 crore cost…

It is clear that there is an initial void in the progress of the Manor Riverfront works, which will be constructed approximately 3 km downstream from the main entrance to the Manor River. They wanted to spend Rs 470 crore on its construction. The Irrigation and Tourism Department has taken the responsibility of construction. Only filling of soil and stones on both sides has been completed. Officials say that about 74 percent of the work under the first phase has been completed. Rupees for this. 201 crores were spent. Although the work on the first phase is to be completed by May this year, it can be completed by next year.

Five check dams…

The goal of Manor Riverfront is to build five check dams from the Manor Dam gate to Chegurthy and store up to 12 feet of water and install votives. These check dams should be completed less than six months in advance. Due to not being completed on time, iron rods were left behind. The construction work of the pillars is still pending. Out of a total of 15 fillings, only one made of cement was left. Only after its completion the tourists will get a chance to enjoy. Apart from this, 32 blocks have been completed on one side of the earthen embankment built on both sides, while half of the soil and stones are to be filled on the other side.

Recently again Rs 234 crore was released for surplus works. The second phase of work is going to be done with them. They are going to spend Rs 60 crore for sewage and flood canals which were left without construction in the past. The remaining amount will be spent on the construction of the check dam and filling the remaining soil and stones. Initially, this riverfront work was estimated at Rs. It started with Rs 410 crore.. Later the cost of this expenditure reached Rs 470 crore. It is clear that these funds are not sufficient for the full scale of the work. Along with the construction of the fountain, funds are also required from the tourism department.

An ill-advised decision on sewage…

All the sewage coming out of the city goes into Maneru River. All the canals of Rampur, Ambedkar Maidan and Shaniwar Bazaar area meet in it. In fact, to build embankments on both sides, a canal for sewage and rain water should be constructed from the old bridge to the other side of the cable-stayed bridge. Without doing this, there was difficulty in constructing earthen and stone embankments. If sewage is released into Maneru without treatment, it will pose a foul smell to farmers and tourists in the catchment area. Necessary changes should be made in case of waste coming from Karimnagar, Sadasivapalli and Alugunur.

No lights on the wire bridge..

Half a kilometer long cable bridge was built from Housing Board Colony to Sadashiv Palli on Maner Vagu at a cost of Rs 183 crore. Entertainment programs were organized for a few days. Within no time the tar on the cable bridge was washed away. There seems to be a decrease in quality. The lights that Jiggle had sent did not light and there was darkness. Cable thieves took it away. Local people allege that an amount of more than Rs 2 crore has been misused.

Congress was already worried about this and had complained to the government. Since the Congress party is currently in power, it has started investigation and is engaged in recovery of Rs 2 crore from the contractor. At present the cable stay bridge is under the supervision of RMP, but preparations are underway to hand it over to the Municipal Corporation or SUDA.

Danger Dumping Yard…

On the other hand, the dumping yard towards the Manor has become a major problem. Even though a decision was taken to shift the dumping yard to another area, Rs 16 crore 50 lakh was spent to clean the waste from the dumping yard and put it to use. It is now burning like Ravana’s torch, exposing the integrity of the rulers and putting the local people in serious trouble. Local people want the dumping yard to be immediately shifted to another area as the smoke is causing them respiratory diseases. Under the Manor River print, they are demanding immediate action against the dumping yard.

Delay in work due to irregularities…

SUDA Chairman Komatireddy Narendra Reddy criticized the previous rulers for delaying the work on the Maner River Front. He says that the reason for this is that the work is done with poor quality and there are irregularities. He believes that there is a need to investigate this and recover money from the culprits. Narendra Reddy says that unlike in the past, the government will go ahead with the goal of completing the Manor riverfront works as per plan. He said that with the funds sanctioned by the government, the work of drainage canals as well as earthen and stone embankments on both the banks of Maneru river will be completed.
