Fire incident in sugarcane field: Due to short circuit, a sudden fire spread in the sugarcane field, causing huge loss to the farmers. The incident took place at Ippappalli village in Mogudampalli mandal of Sangareddy district. Farmers said that the electric wires passing over the sugarcane crop collided with each other and the sugarcane crop caught fire. Within no time these flames turned into flames and spread across the entire field within a few moments.

According to the story told by the villagers, the sugarcane plantations of Pentappa, Subhash, Jaipal, MD Jabbar, MD Shafi, MD Jamir, MD Ameer, Ashok Reddy and some others of Ippappalli village were burnt. 50 acres of sugarcane crop was burnt in the village, causing huge loss to the farmers. The farmers tearfully say that the crop is ready for harvesting and they will harvest the entire crop this month. Sugarcane farmers said that all of them have suffered a loss of up to Rs 1 crore. No matter how much the farmers tried to extinguish the fire, no result was achieved. Unsuccessful attempts were made to extinguish the fire with pipes and drips from a nearby borewell. Farmers are shedding tears due to burning of sugarcane during harvesting.

They want the government to compensate the farmers and do justice. A farmer named Ashok Reddy said that he will get two lakhs per acre. Farmers told that due to this accident all their hard work of last year has been turned into ashes. The farmers have demanded the government to provide adequate compensation and help them. Farmers told that by the time the fire brigade arrived from Zaheerabad, the entire crop was burnt to ashes. Before the accident became major, the fire brigade extinguished the fire. Agriculture officials, Zaheerabad MLA K Manik Rao and others are likely to visit Ippappalli village on Wednesday to assess the damage caused to farmers. After examining the report of the officials, the government can take a decision on compensation.

Sangareddy:

Industrial use accident at Srikara chemical industry in Bolarum. Seven people were seriously injured in the reactor explosion and one is in critical condition.

The workers injured in the accident were identified as Bijesh, Ishwar Chandra Agaria, Pushparaj, Sundar Singh, Chand Pratap, Sheikh Anwar, Nilesh Singh.
