The Android version has released the WhatsApp beta update for 2.25.18.11. Under this version, users will be able to select the quality of photos and videos that automatically download on their devices.

However, this update is currently available to only a few beta testers. In the coming weeks, it will gradually reach more customers. The Wabitainfo website stated that the option was offered to maintain the quality of auto-down media including photos and videos including photos and videos. With this update, the users can learn whether to download the media on WhatsApp and download it in HD quality.

This facility is currently available. Only beta testers can be used. If you join the beta test then the following steps can be followed to find new settings. If you go to settings and tap on storage and data, the media auto download quality option will appear. Click on it. Now you will see two options:

Standard Quality: To save space, compresses media to reduce data consumption.

HD Quality: High resolution maintains better details, but uses more data and storage.

WhatsApp creates two versions, including standard and HD files when someone sends an image or video to HD quality. Under the new update, you can now set auto download in the standard version or HD version.

This feature is available only to the currently selected beta testers. However, WhatsApp has confirmed that it will be available to more customers in the coming weeks. If you want to try this, you have to update your app. With this new feature, phone storage and data will be saved.
