Sirisila Sarees: Sirisila orders 4.24 crore meters of Indira Mahila Shakti sarees

Sirisila Sarees: The government has taken steps to ensure the livelihood of Sirisila Sarees for the development of Sirisila textile industry. The order for uniform sarees to be provided by the state government to the self-help societies has been handed over to Siricilla Garment Industry.

Under Indira Kranti Mahila Shakti Saree Scheme, orders for 4.24 crore meter single color sarees have been placed. It has been advised to prepare these sarees by 30th April. The state government has already spent Rs. Tesco GM Ashok Rao said that Yarn Bank has been established with Rs 50 crore. Sirisila aspired to compete with the textile industry market and achieve self-reliance.

It has been suggested that the machines should be modernized so that production can be done on government and private orders. In respect of various Government Departments Rs. He said, Rs 500 crore dues have been released. He said that they should be ready to make modern and quality products. It is learned that an order of 65.67 lakh meters has already been given to school uniform weaving unions.

Weavers faced financial difficulties due to the cancellation of Bathukamma sarees. There was no demand for woven cloth and weavers faced financial difficulties as they could not get adequate work. More than 30 people committed suicide within a year. Two months before Sankranti, the Tamil Nadu government ordered Pongal sarees and weavers got some relief. At present, the workers are happy with getting orders for distribution of sarees to women’s groups. All Sirisila textile industries have been requested to give government orders.
