The Government Aviation Training Institute (GATI) estimates that India will need to train 20,000 pilots over the next 10 years. Minister Lokesh asked to set up flying schools in Andhra Pradesh to train pilots to provide relief to the existing pilots.

It was informed that to increase operational efficiency, MRO facility has recently been opened in Bengaluru. He said that the board of directors will discuss and take a decision on the appeal of Andhra Pradesh government.
