CRDA Airport: Lokesh requests Air India CEO to set up an international airport under CRDA

Air India asked CEO to set up training center for pilots/stewardesses/technical team in Andhra Pradesh. The Government Aviation Training Institute (GATI) estimates that India will need to train 20,000 pilots over the next 10 years. Minister Lokesh asked to set up flying schools in Andhra Pradesh to train pilots to provide relief to the existing pilots.

Air India MD Camp Bell Wilson said… Air India already has operating centers in major cities of the country and plans to set up MRO (maintenance, repair, overhaul) centers in some other cities.

It was informed that to increase operational efficiency, MRO facility has recently been opened in Bengaluru. Air India said there will be massive investment in fleet upgrade, plans to introduce modern aircraft, infrastructure and technology to strengthen its global presence. He said that the board of directors will discuss and take a decision on the appeal of Andhra Pradesh government.
