Kothagudem Airport: Another step towards the construction of Kothagudem Airport..Central team inspected the site

Local authorities and public representatives have proposed some land for the construction of an airport in Bhadradri Kothagudem district. The Airport Authority of India team recently inspected the identified site at Garibpet in Sujatanagar mandal. Representatives from Aero Planning, Architect, Operations and Engineering departments inspected the proposed site. Khammam MP Raghuram Reddy, Collector Jitesh V. Patil and the central team informed the situation there. Know here 5 important things related to this.

1. Representatives of the central team, public representatives and district officials reached Garibpet. The map details as well as the surrounding areas of Sujathanagar, Chunchupalli and Kothagudem mandals were examined. The officials were asked about the nature of the surrounding rivers, ponds, forests and land.

2. The District Collector said that about 954 acres of land has been identified for the establishment of the airport. Out of this, 754 acres belong to the Forest Department, while 200 acres are said to be lease land. The central team was told that there are no high electricity towers, hills or waterholes in the surrounding areas. It was explained to them that residential villages are far away from here.

3. The Collector explained to the central team that the proposed site is suitable for the construction of the airport. He said that the construction of the airport has been the dream of the people of United Khammam district for decades. People here are going abroad for higher education and jobs. Bhadrachalam Ram Temple, popularly known as South Ayodhya, said that there is a Buddhist stupa at Nelakondapalli in Khammam district.

4. MP Raghuram Reddy clarified that the land selected by the Collector is suitable for the construction of the airport. He said that the land selected earlier was rejected and the construction of the airport in Bhadradri district located on the border of three states is very important. It was explained to the central team that it would be suitable for the movement of forces in times of emergency.

5. MLA Kunnaneni Sambasivarao told the central team about the positive aspects of the construction of the airport in Garibpet. He said that with the establishment of the airport, Manyam district will develop from industrial and tourism point of view. After inspecting the place, everyone reviewed it together in the Collectorate. The representatives of the central team clarified that they will submit the report to AAI officials as soon as possible as per the rules.
