CPM Mahasabhalu: Hindutva, corporate BJP are like those two pillars – Prakash Karat

CPM Maha Sabhalu: CPI(M) politburo members and party coordinator Prakash Karat remarked that the BJP survives on two pillars: Hindutva principles and protecting corporate interests. He called on the people to reverse these through mass movements. Apart from these, he directed the party workers to fight together against liberalized economic policies, social oppression and caste discrimination.

Leftists must unite

Prakash Karat suggested that the left parties should work for unity along with increasing their independent strength. The ongoing fourth state conference of CPI(M) in Sangareddy town entered its second day on Sunday. Prakash Karat, who participated in the general meetings, said that national and international situations were explained as examples. He said that many changes have taken place at the international level in the last three years.

America supports Israel

Russia, the war in Ukraine, and Israel’s wars on Palestine are mentioned. He reminded that in the present times when other countries and people want peace, America has supported Israel. He said that it is a matter of regret that the Indian government is also supporting Israel in this process. Now in power in America, Trump criticized that he is trying to dominate other countries economically, politically and commercially by giving the slogan of ‘America First’.

The left is making a comeback

He said that Anura Kumara Dissanayake came to power in Sri Lanka at the same time when liberal forces are coming to power in many countries. He reminded that leftist forces have come to power in Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador and Mexico. Also, the foreign policy of Modi government towards America was criticized as being in favor of that country.

On this occasion, Karat said that despite getting less than 63 seats, Modi formed the NDA government for the third time with the help of his friends. However, there has been no change in BJP’s Hindutva agenda. On the occasion of celebrations of the 76th Republic Day, he expressed concern that the Modi government is weakening the democratic, secular and federal values of the Constitution.

Speaking on the occasion, State Executive Committee member Chukka Ramulu said that the industrial workers have patted our backs for the last 2 months and provided all support to CPM to win the State Congress. He said that unorganized workers, scheme workers, agricultural labourers, farmers, poor and all oppressed groups are supporting the Red Flag.
