TGSRTC special buses: 6432 special buses ready for Sankranti – Key announcement on ticket fares, latest updates here
Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) is all set to transport people going home safely to their destinations on the occasion of Sankranti. The management has already decided to run 6432 special buses for this festival.
There is a possibility that there will be more crowd of passengers mainly on 10th, 11th and 12th of this month. It has planned to provide special buses to handle rush hour on those days. Besides, proper arrangements have also been made to handle round trip rush on 19th and 20th of this month.
Which areas will they go through?
Special buses are running from busy areas of Hyderabad like MGBS, JBS, Uppal Cross Road, Arrangar, LB Nagar Cross Road, KPHB, Boinpally, Gachibowli etc. Pandals, tents, chairs, public address system, drinking water facilities and mobile toilets will be set up in those areas for the convenience of the passengers.

The TGSRTC management has increased the ticket prices by Rs 1.50 for the special buses running for the Sankranti festival, as per the state government. It has been clarified that the revised fare will be applicable only on special buses plying for Telangana and other states.
The revised fare will be applicable only on 10th, 11th and 12th and 19th and 20th of this month, which are the busiest days for return journey. Normal fares are applicable in regular buses except special buses. TGSRTC said that as part of the Mahalakshmi scheme of the state government, the free bus transport facility for women in Palle Veluk, Express, City Ordinary and Metro Express buses running till Sankranti will continue as usual.
The RTC said the ownership runs special services during major festivals and special occasions to transport people safely to their destinations without any problem in terms of transportation. Although the special buses are not crowded with passengers on the return journey, the company has announced that it will bring back empty buses to avoid inconvenience to passengers on congested routes. It has been told that according to the crowd of passengers, they will be driven on the respective routes.
RTC of Telangana reminded that the State Government had issued GEO No. 16 in 2003 to revise the ticket price as per the minimum diesel expenditure and maintenance of special buses. The organization has the facility to revise ticket prices by Rs 1.50 in special buses running only on festivals and special occasions. According to the state government bio, TGSRTC has revised the ticket prices for this Sankranti for 5 days only.
