Aadhaar Ration Card Linking: The Government of India has made its Aadhaar card to link its ration card with its ration card so that the subsidy can reach the real beneficiaries. The objective is to solve the problem of fraud ration card and improve the distribution of ration benefits. The government has set up an online system to make Aadhaar and Ration Card linking process easier and provide it to all.
Can link Aadhaar with ration cards with these steps
step 1: Visit your state’s official public distribution system (PDS) website. To reach the relevant section for Aadhaar linking, you have to log in to use your credentials.
step 2: After logging in, select the option that connects your base with your ration card. Follow the instructions appearing on the screen, enter your Aadhaar number and details of the ration card number.
step 3: After entering the required information, your registered mobile number comes with OTP (once password). To verify your identity, enter OTP to complete the linking process. Aadhaar and ration card linkage comes on your phone, a confirmation message on your phone.
Aadhaar connection is mandatory
Family members have been registered on the ration card, they should add their Aadhaar to their ration card to prevent ration benefits. The government has also implemented a compulsory KYC verification along with Aadhaar Authority, mobile number and finger print verification. In addition to connecting Aadhaar to the ration card, UIDAI has given an opportunity to update personal details online, such as name, address or date of birth on the Aadhaar card. The feature, which is scheduled to end on December 14, 2024, is now extended to June 14, 2025.
