AP Skill Development case: Chandrababu gets relief from Supreme Court, petition to cancel bail rejected

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has got relief from the Supreme Court. The apex court rejected the petition filed by the previous government to cancel the bail in the Kaushal case. The bench of Justice Bela Trivedi rejected the petition filed by the previous government. State government counsel Mukul Rohatgi explained to the bench that the charge sheet has already been filed.

What is the matter..

During the Chandrababu government from 2014 to 2019, Siemens and DesignTech companies signed an agreement worth Rs 3300 crore to provide skill development training to the youth of the state. An agreement was reached that the government would provide 10 percent of the funds and Siemens would pay the remaining 90 percent. Chandrababu government has paid Rs 370 crore including GST as 10 per cent share on behalf of the state government.

AP CID has registered the case and said that out of Rs 370 crore paid by the government, Rs 240 crore was transferred to DesignTech company instead of the name of Siemens company. There are allegations that the cabinet was misled and then another was put into the contract and the money was taken out. CID has been investigating it thoroughly for a long time. A case has also been registered against many people. This matter was also brought to the notice of ED…Officials of that organization also investigated.

Complaints in the past..

This scam happened between 2016-2018. Many people have already complained about this to ACB. There are allegations that the then government destroyed the original files related to the agreement. At the time of managing the officers… the real conspiracy was revealed in the investigation of the GST officers. The Income Tax Department is also keeping an eye on this scam. The CID officers investigating the case at that time coordinated with all these organizations and conducted the investigation.

In this case Chandrababu is A-1 and Achchennaidu is A-2. Cases have been registered against Chandrababu Babu under sections 120 (B), 166, 167, 418, 420, 465, 468, 201, 109, read with 34 and 37 of the Indian Penal Code. The CID issued a notice under Section 50(1) of the CrPC and Chandrababu was arrested under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. Got bail about 50 days after his arrest.
