Overall, Toyota Motor sold over a million vehicles between January and December last year. It exceeds more than 10 million cars than its nearest competitive Fox Wagon. Toyota remains the second most valuable car manufacturer worldwide, although the world’s largest car manufacturer.
Lexus share
In 2024, Toyota had a total sales luxury car brand Lexus, mini vehicle manufacturer Dahatsu Motor and truck manufacturer Hino Motors. Last year, in 1.08 crore cars sold by the group, Toyota and Lexus were responsible for about 95 percent of vehicles or total sale. Sales have declined in Japan, China and other global markets. Total Toyota sales fell by 3.7 percent in 2024.
Dominance of hybrid cars in 2024
Most cars sold by Toyota last year include an internal combination engine (Ice) vehicle operated by petrol or diesel. On the other hand, Toyota is popular worldwide for petrol-electric hybrid cars. In India, Toyota Toyota sells similar hybrid cars with names such as Innova High Cross and Urban Cruiser High Rider. Toyota’s total sales in global markets have a hybrid car share of 40 %. The car manufacturer sells electric vehicles with a minor partnership of 1.5 percent of the total sales.

Toyota Motor in India abolished its best year 2024 as Toyota Motor was sent to more than 3.26 lakh units. Toyota sales in India was 40 percent compared to 2023. Out of a total of 3 lakh units in India, 3 lakh units were distributed in India and 26,232 units were exported to other global markets.
Second place Vox Wagon
The German auto giant Woakes Wagon Group remains the second largest carmaker in the world. In 2024, the company sold more than 90 million vehicles worldwide. The Woakes Wagon group includes car brands such as Skoda, Fox Wagon, Seat, Quipa and Luxury Vehicle Manufacturer Audi, Lamborghini, Bentley, Porsche and Dukati. Group sales fell by 2.3 percent last year as compared to 2023. The main reason for this decline is that low sales in China, in which the carmakers faced value wars from opponents.
