Aadhaar Update: Aadhaar amendment is life threatening..AP government ignores setting up regional center

Aadhaar Update: Making corrections in Aadhaar card in AP is becoming a burden for the people. The state government’s lack of prudence in handing over Aadhaar centers to private organizations is a step forward, and the absence of at least one regional Aadhaar center in AP is creating serious problems. The Unique Identification Enrollment Authority has made the amendments in Aadhaar card complicated and made the lives of people miserable. Since state governments do not pay attention to this issue, they have to visit offices for months for Aadhaar amendment.

People’s representatives who do not care about the establishment of the regional center

There is no regional office for Aadhar Card in Andhra Pradesh. A regional office for the states of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Andaman and Nicobar has been set up in Hyderabad. Aadhar Card related people have to go to Hyderabad for any problem in Aadhar Card. Anyone who has any problem from Srikakulam to Chittoor has to go to Hyderabad.

Only 100 tokens are issued per day at the Hyderabad centre. If anyone from five states does not get the token that day, there will be a riot. Although the state government is receiving requests from people to set up Aadhaar authorized centers in AP, but the government is being negligent. Technically, there is no seeding even if there is a difference of one letter in the Aadhaar card. Already students and employees have to go to Hyderabad for Aadhaar correction. All this is a costly affair and the government is not taking any steps which is causing problems.

It is not mandatory…!

It has been almost fifteen years since all citizens of the country were allotted a unique identification number. In this sequence, there are crores of people in the country who have not yet corrected the mistakes made in the Aadhaar card and have not updated the details in the Aadhaar card. The government has not created awareness to enter any details while issuing Aadhaar card. In this, details are recorded mainly on the basis of available information. In this background, the name of married women and housewives is entered in the Aadhaar card along with their husband’s family name. All such people are in trouble now.

Aadhaar has become a curse for lactating girls

Aadhaar unique number has now become the basis of everything in the country. All the details from birth till the last date of birth are linked to Aadhaar. In this sequence, the work of women who study and work gets stuck, if there is any change in the details entered at the time of issuing Aadhaar card and the name in their certificate, then there is no need to modify them.

A 78-year-old retired teacher from Vijayawada registered her Aadhaar card with her husband’s family name in it in 2013. Two years ago, in the process of linking PAN card with Aadhaar, Aadhaar was not linked as the PAN was in his birth name based on his service records. Mandatory linking of Aadhaar and PAN from 2024 has created complications in managing bank accounts. The 78-year-old woman lamented that despite trying for a year for amendment in the Aadhaar card, the name has not been changed, and the Aadhaar card is in the name of Mettini, whose details are in her education documents, service certificate, pension documents and It is clear. PAN card is not correct. Complained on Aadhaar helpline but got no response.

Whose fault is it? Who is punished?

At the time of issuing Aadhaar cards, camps were set up and cards were issued in a hurry without giving any awareness about the details to be entered in it. At that time the UPA government had hidden the fact that the cards issued before Pushkar were used only for identification. After this Aadhar card was linked to every government scheme.

The government, which makes Aadhaar the basis from birth till death, is being careless about amending it. While registering the details of women while issuing Aadhar cards in 2012-13, names were entered in Aadhar cards on the basis of family details. For this, things like ration card and voter card have been taken as standard. There is lack of clarity on what name should be continued for educated women and employees. As a result, a large number of women have enrolled their husband’s family name in the Aadhaar card. They became the curse of their milk.

Revisions are not easy…

Studying and working housewives have also registered their husband’s surname in Aadhaar card for various reasons. Even among women who completed their studies and worked before marriage and paid tax through PAN card, few of them registered or changed their name in Aadhaar card. Such people had to face difficulties in linking PAN card with Aadhar card. Linking is done only if the name in Aadhaar and PAN card is same. Many of them are already roaming around Aadhaar centers under different names.

The matter of name change in Aadhar card has now become more complicated. Although the government allows changes and amendments in names with prescribed documents, there is no problem in case of both types of names. There is confusion regarding whether mother’s name in Aadhar card and birth name in PAN card should be continued or not. Even UIDAI has not given any clarification on this from the government. Since the Central Government and the Finance Department have not given any clarification on this, there is no problem for the elderly and women pensioners.
