AP Government on Sankranti Movies: Benefit Shows of Sankranti Movies – Main Decision of AP Government
It is known that the AP government has given the green signal to sell the tickets of Daku Maharaj and Game Changer movies at higher prices for the first 14 days. A petition has also been filed in the High Court. The trial court… seriously faulted the orders of the AP government. Let it be known that it has been made clear that the increase in ticket prices of films should be limited to only 10 days. In this context, the AP government has recently issued major orders.
Based on the High Court judgment, the AP government has given clarity regarding the increase in ticket prices of the films ‘Game Changer’ and ‘Daku Maharaj’ and additional shows. Issued new orders with clarification. It announced that shows beyond 1 am and 4 am would not be allowed.
As per the High Court order recently, it has been directed not to do more than 5 shows per day for ten days. It said one in five shows could be held as a benefit show. District Collectors and City Police Commissioners have been directed to take action as per the High Court order.
Petition in High Court – Judgment is as follows:
A petition was filed in the AP High Court regarding the ticket prices of Balakrishna starrer Daku Maha Raj and Ram Charan starrer Game Changer. Arigela Srinivasulu of Guntur has filed a PIL challenging the state government’s order allowing film producers to sell films at higher prices for the first 14 days.
The bench headed by CJ investigated this petition. The counsel appearing for the petitioner argued that the AP government had earlier issued GO-13 allowing films with a budget of more than Rs 100 crore to sell tickets at higher prices for the first 10 days. He questioned the issuance of a memo to allow two films to be sold at a higher price for 14 days, contrary to that bio. He complained that the memo was issued against the orders of the AP government.
Balakrishna, who starred in Daku Maharaj, is currently an MLA, is the Chief Minister’s own brother-in-law and Ram Charan is the son of Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan, for these reasons permission was issued to charge higher prices for the two films. Considering the fact that two people died in a road accident while on their way to the pre-release event of the film Game Changer, there was an argument for canceling the late night premiere show. The CJ bench responded and ordered the AP government to limit the high prices of films to the first 10 days.
As per the order of AP High Court, the state government has recently given clarity on the ticket prices. Apart from this, he has also decided to reduce the benefit show.
