Budget 2025: Will there be good news for farmers holding Kisan Credit Cards in the Union Budget?
The expectations of every section regarding the budget are increasing day by day. The days of Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presenting the budget are coming closer. Expectations are a little higher for farmers. It is also being discussed what allocation the NDA government will make for the agriculture sector.
Many people believe that the central government is taking more steps to promote agriculture in this budget. To help farmers, Modi government is planning to increase the Kisan Credit Card loan limit to Rs 5 lakh. Like the previous budget, this budget too is expected to have major announcements that will benefit the agriculture sector. There is a possibility that announcements like increasing the limit of Kisan Credit Card, reducing GST on agricultural products, increasing subsidy for agriculture etc. will be made in the budget. The central government will give priority to increasing the income of farmers.
The central government can increase the limit of Kisan Credit Card from Rs 3 lakh to Rs 5 lakh. This step will increase the income potential of farmers. This helps them to invest more in their agricultural activities. Through Kisan Credit Card, farmers, herders and fishermen can easily get loans from banks at low interest rates.
Currently the credit limit of Kisan Credit Card is Rs 3 lakh and there is a possibility of an announcement to increase it to Rs 5 lakh during the budget. The central government has decided to reduce GST tax on agricultural inputs. Now farmers are facing problems due to imposition of separate GST on seeds and fertilizers in the market. By reducing these, farmers’ profits can be increased. A statement to this effect may also come in the budget. In the next Union Budget, there is a demand to increase the grant for agriculture sector from 5 percent to 7 percent as compared to the previous budget.
Union Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will be presented in Parliament on 1 February 2025. The Union Budget 2025-26 will be presented in Parliament at 11 am. This is the second Union Budget after Prime Minister Narendra Modi came to power for the third time. The eighth Union Budget to be presented by Nirmala Sitharaman as Finance Minister.
