Davos AP Branding: Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu’s four-day visit to Davos, aimed at enhancing the AP brand image and setting up a network to bring huge investment in the state, ended successfully. During these four days, on one hand he held discussions with the CEOs and heads of major organizations of the world and representatives of many countries… on the other hand, he participated in round table meetings and conferences non-stop and promoted Andhra. Pradesh and AP brands.
Successful Meetings:
Chandrababu was completely successful in impressing the investors who came to Davos from all over the world. About 15 heads of top business organizations from different regions of the world were met and explained about the benefits of investing in Andhra Pradesh. Information was given about the new policies brought by the state for business development and industrialists, Swarnandhra-2047 scheme etc. and the assistance given by the state government to the investors.
He was invited to visit the state and see the possibilities firsthand. As a result, many major companies have shown interest in setting up their projects in the state. The organizations themselves have expressed their desire to visit the state and pursue all aspects of the investment.
First day of tour:
On the first day of the World Economic Forum conference, he met Indian Ambassador to Switzerland Mridul Kumar at the Hilton Hotel in Zurich and discussed investment opportunities available from Switzerland in the state. The Chief Minister said that Andhra Pradesh has vast opportunities in manufacturing sectors like pharmaceuticals, medical devices, technical textiles and rail components. Mridul Kumar was asked to visit AP and Switzerland University.
The Chief Minister met CEOs of Swissman, Oerlikon, Angst Pfister and Swiss Textiles and explained about investment opportunities in the state.
Unprecedented welcome in Zurich:
Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, ministers Nara Lokesh, TG Bharat and a group of officials, who were in Zurich ahead of attending the World Economic Forum conference in Davos, were given an unprecedented welcome at the Zurich airport. The Chief Minister interacted with members of the Europe TDP Forum and a large number of migrants.
Day 2 of the tour:
On the second day of the tour, Chief Minister Chandrababu delivered a speech on green industrialization in the special session of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). He said that Indians have the potential to become global entrepreneurs by becoming successful in the field of trade and commerce. He said that availability of human resources is a plus point for Andhra Pradesh and many people from Andhra Pradesh are contributing to the global economy and excelling with their talent.
Interested ‘Maersk’: Denmark’s Maersk, one of the world’s largest shipping companies, has shown interest in investing in Andhra Pradesh. Chief Minister Chandrababu held a meeting with Chuck Robbins, Chairman and CEO of Cisco, a multinational technology company famous for data centers and Internet of Things. Manufacturing of network components along with setting up a Global Capability Center (GCC) at Visakha or Tirupati has been invited.
LG Chemicals: The Chief Minister held discussions with Shin Hak Cheol, CEO of LG Chem Ltd, South Korea’s largest chemical company, and asked him to set up LG Chem’s subsidiary Energy in the state.
Carlsberg Group: Chief Minister Chandrababu also held discussions with Jacob Arup Andersen, CEO of Carlsberg Group, which produces juices, soft drinks, beer, packaged drinking water. A request has been made to set up an integrated brewery and bottling unit in the state.
ArcelorMittal Project: Anakapalle Rs. ArcelorMittal/Nippon Steel Executive Chairman Lakshmi N. Mittal, Chief Minister Chandrababu discussed with CEO Aditya Mittal.
Day 3 of the tour:
Google Cloud: Chief Minister Chandrababu asked Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian to look into the possibility of setting up a design center in Visakhapatnam, where Google is making its chips for servers. The Chief Minister suggested to Thomas Kurian that Google Cloud should set up a manufacturing unit in AP to add to its server supply chain. He said that AP should be made the main center in terms of server management services.
PETRONAS: Chief Minister Chandrababu held discussions with Muhammad Taufiq, Chairman and Group Chief Executive Officer of Malaysian oil and natural gas company Petronas. Petronas’ Kakinada plant, aimed at producing green ammonia, will cost Rs. Rs 13,000 crore. An investment of Rs 15,000 crore will be made.
PepsiCo: The Chief Minister met Eugene Willemsen, CEO of PepsiCo International Beverages and Stephen Kehoe, Chairman of PepsiCo Foundation. PepsiCo Beverages, which already runs a bottling plant at Sricity in AP… The Chief Minister suggested that Visakhapatnam could be set up as the global distribution center for PepsiCo’s digital hub.
meeting bill gates : Chief Minister Chandrababu requested Bill Gates, founder of Microsoft and founder of Bill Melinda Gates Foundation, to cooperate in making Andhra Pradesh a hub of health, education and innovation.
Hindustan Unilever: Chief Minister Chandrababu held discussions with Willem Ujzen, Chief Supply Chain Officer of Unilever, a company known for products related to food, home care, beauty and personal care. The CM said Visakhapatnam is in favor of setting up a technology hub for the beauty portfolio of Unilever, which is expected to set up a palm oil industry in AP with an investment of Rs 330 crore.
DP World: Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu asked the world’s reputed container terminal company DP World to come forward to set up a smart container terminal in Andhra Pradesh.
CM Chandrababu reached Delhi
Till returning to the state from Davos, the Chief Minister is meeting heads of various organizations and prominent people of different fields and discussing the development of the state. The famous Swiss entrepreneur, environmentalist met Andre Hoffmann, Vice President of Che Holdings. Also discussed with UNDP chief Achim Steiner and CNN’s Becky Anderson. After this the CM’s team reached Zurich by road from Davos. From there the CM reached Delhi after midnight. Minister Lokesh will remain in Davos for one more day. Lokesh will return tomorrow after meeting some industrialists today. The Chief Minister believes that the first foreign trip he made after becoming the CM for the fourth time was satisfactory…these discussions will yield good results in the coming days.
