Demand for Deputy CM: What is the real reason behind Lokesh’s demand for Deputy CM? What is happening in the alliance?
Demand for Deputy CM: Recently, TDP leaders have been continuously raising their voice for making Minister Nara Lokesh the Deputy CM. TDP-BJP-Janasena coalition government has been formed in Andhra Pradesh and preparations have been completed. Chandrababu Naidu is the Chief Minister and Janasena President Pawan Kalyan is the Deputy Chief Minister. There are three party leaders in the cabinet. In this sequence, for the last four-five days, the demand for making Minister Nara Lokesh the Deputy CM is unexpectedly coming to the fore.
There is a debate going on among political parties whether the demand for making Nara Lokesh the Deputy CM has suddenly arisen and are there other reasons for it. Everyone is doubtful as to why TDP MLAs and ministers raised the demand of making Lokesh the Deputy CM without any time and context.
Other parties also suspect that the demands of TDP leaders were made strategically. In the same sequence, other reasons behind these demands are also being discussed in full swing in the political circles.
Is this the real reason?
The real reason for this controversy seems to be the stampede incident that took place during the issuance of Vaikuntha Ekadashi tokens in Tirumala. On January 8, on the occasion of release of Vaikuntha Ekadashi darshan tokens, six devotees lost their lives in a stampede at Padmavathi Park near Ramanaidu School in Byragipattada, Tirupati.
The next day after the incident, CM Chandrababu visited the accident site. After the Chief Minister met the victims, Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan also visited the incident site and met the victims. Generally, after the Chief Minister’s visit, other ministers do not need to visit separately. Medical Minister Satya Kumar and BJP leaders also participated in the CM’s visit. After the incident, prominent leaders of Janasena did not come to the spot until Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan arrived.
While darshan tokens were to be issued on the morning of Thursday 9th, a huge crowd reached the counters from Wednesday morning itself. Since Ramanaidu High School is near the National Highway, many people come there for tokens. All of them were sent to the park near the school and locked. The police acted negligently when a woman fell ill at 8.40 pm. The gate was opened to take him out. The park was already packed.
At the same time another 50 people were allowed into the park. He was sent after pressure from a second-ranking leader of a political party. Those at the back thought they were being allowed into the queue as soon as the gates were removed. This created an uproar. Those who were without food since morning proceeded to go out. On the day of the incident, the police made it clear to the government that all this was done under the leadership of a particular leader of the coalition parties.
Government in trouble due to Pawan’s demands…
Since six devotees lost their lives in the stampede, the government acted in self-defense. Due to massive criticism, corrective steps had to be taken. At the same time, Pawan Kalyan’s remarks during the meeting with the victims of the coalition government put the government in trouble. No matter what Pawan’s intentions were in apologizing to the TTD chairman as well as everyone, ultimately the government had to face criticism. Holding Police and TTD responsible Most of the TDP leaders did not like Pawan’s behaviour.
TDP says they are adjusting themselves…
Although the reasons for the stampede incident in Tirupati were clear, the government transferred the Tirupati SP on Pawan’s demand. YCP got a lot of relief from this decision. The YCP has repeatedly criticized the Tirupati SP for being close to the Chief Minister. Due to Pawan’s demand, the government transferred SP Subbarayudu. There is a perception in TDP that Chandrababu is making adjustments for the alliance, but is not getting adequate support from Janasena. TDP is arguing that Chandrababu fully cooperates in any decision taken by Jana Sena.
Pawan’s seizures are the real reason…
Pawan Kalyan recently visited the power plant being built by a green company in Kurnool district. Pawan, who is the Forest and Environment Minister, visited the construction of a pumped storage power plant being built in Kurnool district. Janasena suspects that there has been a change in TDP’s stance only after this visit. The party argues that there is no need for TDP to raise any objection to Pawan Kalyan’s visit in the capacity of Deputy CM.
On the other hand, in the programs organized by the alliance parties, slogans raised by Janasena workers addressing Pawan Kalyan as the Chief Minister also spread dissatisfaction in TDP. Pawan also openly expressed his displeasure over these slogans which were becoming irrelevant with time. TDP suspects that these slogans are also being raised deliberately.
On the other hand, there is a perception in Janasena that Nara Lokesh is enjoying more power than Pawan Kalyan, who is the Deputy CM. Clarity The TDP ministers are clear that any decision taken in any department in the coalition government should ultimately be approved by Nara Lokesh. Janasena groups do not like this. Janasena feels that despite being the Deputy CM, Lokesh has more power.
Nagababu gets ministerial post
Pawan Kalyan had recently raised the demand to include his brother Nagababu in the cabinet. He had tried to send Nagababu to Rajya Sabha, but Jana Sena did not get a chance because one of the three seats was given to BJP. TDP sources are arguing that if the Janasena party with 21 MLAs makes demands like CM post for Pawan and ministerial post for Nagababu, then it is wrong to demand that Lokesh be made the Deputy CM in the party with 135 MLAs.
At the same time, giving priority to one caste in Janasena also became a topic of discussion. TDP reminds that the posts of Minister, MP, MLC, PAC President and Civil Supplies Corporation have been given to people named by Pawan. Party leaders say that Nagababu has not been given any chance even in the matter of ministerial post.
What is wrong in giving inheritance to Lokesh?
TDP has raised a new demand to give Chandrababu’s political legacy to Lokesh. TDP hopes that after Chandrababu, Nara Lokesh should get the command. At the same time, Jana Sena is trying for a permanent political future in AP. Janasena hopes that Pawan Kalyan should not leave any chance to become the Chief Minister. There is a strong desire among the Janasena to permanently regain the reins of power limited to two castes in Andhra Pradesh.
At present there is no conflict in the coalition government led by Chandrababu. Chandrababu has a tendency to coordinate with all the parties keeping in view the political needs. At the same time, TDP seniors say that Babu has a clear understanding of his son’s political future. Only time will tell whether the demand for the post of Deputy CM for Lokesh has arisen coincidentally or there is some pre-planned strategy behind it.
