Electric vehicles: Permission on electric vehicles on roads- Government big fight on pollution!

The government is preparing for major reforms to reduce Delhi air pollution in news around the world. The government is planning to say goodbye to 2 wheelers and only electric scooters. By August 15, 2026, it has been reported that rules are being made in EV Policy 2.0 to stop registration of vehicles except electric scooters. If this is true, this will be the biggest decision that the Delhi government has taken to reduce this adaptation and pollution caused by the city’s vehicles.

What is in Delhi Eve Policy 2.0? (guess)

The Delhi Electric Vehicle Policy 2.0 is yet to be approved by the government cabinet. Many details of the draft have surfaced. There are many remedies in this draft to remove vehicles working with fossil fuels by step -B -step. The first of these is to discontinue new registration of CNG based auto by August 15, 2025. In addition, the current CNG auto cannot be increased. The relevant autorickshaw is required to be converted into electric auto.

Delhi EV Policy 2.0 also suggests accurate rules for CNG auto. CNG autos over 10 years of age should take steps to walk on battery or find electrical options. Similar rules are likely to be effective in other 3 wheeler vehicles used for goods and transportation. Registration of this type of vehicle, which has petrol, diesel and CNG engines, cannot be allowed after August 15, 2025.

There are also indications that vehicles being used for public service and municipalities are currently under the latest policy. The Municipal Corporation of Delhi, New Delhi Municipal Council and Dilli Jal Board should be converted into full -cyl electric vehicles by 31 December 2027. EV Policy 2.0 suggests that Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) and Delhi Integrated Multi Model Transit System should also replace buses with electric buses. BS-4 obedient buses are allowed for interstate transport.

Some new rules may also apply for owners of private vehicles as part of EV Policy 2.0. According to this proposed policy, people with two vehicles are already planning a third vehicle, it should definitely happen!

New rules will apply after approving EV Policy 2.0. It should be remembered that these proposed rules are currently in the draft phase.

The EV policy, which is currently in Delhi, is scheduled to end on 31 March. But the current EV policy has been extended for another 15 days to finalize the new draft.
