According to sources, EPFO’s highest decision-making company Central Board of Trustees (CBT) has decided to provide 8.25 percent interest rate on EPF for 2024-25. Following the CBT decision, the interest rate on EPF deposits for the year 2024-25 will be sent to the Ministry of Finance. After being approved by the government, interest on EPF for the year 2024-25 will be credited with more than seven crore customer accounts of EPFO. Once the government has approved by the Finance Ministry, EPFO ​​interest will reach the accounts of customers.

In 2018-19, the interest rate on Provident Fund Deposit was a maximum of 8.65 %. EPFO cut a seven-year low for 8.5 % for the financial year 2019-20 in March 2020. EPFO provided 8.65 percent to its customers in 2016-17 and 8.55 percent in 2017-18. In 2015-16, the interest rate rose to 8.8 percent. Retirement fund body offered 8.75 % interest in 2013-14 and 2014-15. The interest rate in 2011-12 was 8.25 %.
