The President and actor of Kerala Film Chamber of Commerce and actor G Suresh Kumar has revealed how many producers and distributors are suffering in Kerala. He said that manufacturers in Kerala are badly affected by double taxes on entertainment and GST on movie tickets.
Many film associations have revealed that they will stop all film shoots and screening of films in theaters from 1 June. The manufacturers are also concerned about the demand for huge remuneration besides taxes and GST.
A large amount of remuneration
Suresh said that 60 percent of the film’s budget is only for actors. He said that the Malayalam industry had lost Rs 100 crore in January. In January, Asif Ali’s only benefit starred. A total of 28 films were released that month.
It is noteworthy that if the situation continues, the actors who are taking huge remuneration will also reveal the details of the remuneration. However, he will meet Kerala CM Pinari Vijayan once before going on strike from June 1. After that the final decision will be taken.
Generally, Malayalam films earns huge at the box office with a low budget. But in the meantime, the budget of industry films is increasing rapidly. Huge budget films are also coming from Malayalam. However, there is no such amount of collection. In addition, manufacturers and distributors are severely affected by taxes and remuneration.
