BP Acharya was identified not only as a civil servant but also as a good cartoonist. He loves rural artists very much. Acharya is also known as a rich writer of extraordinary talent… political cartoonist. Apart from making cartoons, he also writes articles for some English magazines.

BP Acharya worked as Special Chief Secretary in the Telangana government. He played an important role in developing industrial areas such as Genome Valley, Financial District, Mindspace, Srcetic in Rayalaseema and Brandics in Uttarandhra.

How do you become a cartoonist?

BP Acharya says that sarcastic lines of famous cartoonists like RK Laxman and Mario Miranda raised interest in them. He was attracted to comedy and art since childhood. He has created a collection of cartoons titled ‘Obtuse Angle’, with his experiences from four decades to retirement in cartoons. He depicted the challenges, difficulties and fun moments during his journey as a civil servant in his sarcastic lines. The book has more than 100 cartoons on political, economic and social issues.
