Formula E car race case: KTR, BRS rankle for ED probe!

Former minister KTR will join the ED’s interrogation today (Thursday). Enforcement Directorate officials will interrogate KTR in the Formula E car race case. Actually, KTR has to appear before ED on 7th of this month. But… because he said he could not come, ED officials gave notice to attend the hearing on 16th.

allegations against KTR

KTR has been accused of breaking rules in the Formula E car race. Telangana ACB will investigate this. However, the ED has registered a case that the funds were paid to a foreign company without RBI permission. Investigation started. Under this, ED has already interrogated Arvind Kumar and BLN Reddy as accused in the same case.

Petition to cancel KTR..

KTR has filed a petition in the High Court to quash the FIR lodged by the ACB against him in this case. The High Court rejected his cancellation petition. Along with this, KTR approached the Supreme Court challenging the decision of the High Court. The Supreme Court also ordered to declare that petition ‘withdrawn and dismissed’. In this background, the ED investigation into KTR has become a topic of discussion in Telangana politics.

Notice once again..

Under this case, ACB officials can again issue notice to KTR. ACB officials interrogated KTR on 9th of this month and recorded his statement. ACB officials have made it clear that they will call again if necessary. It seems that after the ED investigation, ACB officers may interrogate him once again today.

Wasn’t fired..

His lawyer Mohit Rao clarified that the quashing petition filed by KTR in the Supreme Court has not been dismissed. As per legal opinion the case has been withdrawn. He told that he has the option to appeal in any court regarding this matter.

The bench of Justice Bela M Trivedi and Justice Prasanna Varle heard the petition filed by KTR in the Supreme Court in the Formula E car race case. Aryama Sundaram and Siddharth Davelu gave arguments on KTR’s cash petition. Mohit Rao said, ‘We have heard arguments that Section 13.1A of the PC Act is not applicable in this case.’
