Godavari Special: Godavari Special is not ordinary. His specialty is. The entire family ate together in a space of eight feet. We remember the affection and greetings of Godaroles. As a part of the same, for this Sankranti festival too, some families made news by organizing dinners with varieties of 400 to 600 for new brides. On the other hand, the entire family dined at a huge place and stood outside. On the occasion of Sankranti festival, the entire family ate food in the same space of eight feet.

The Sankranti festival is named after Andhra Pradesh. It is especially celebrated in Godavari districts. On one hand, betting on chickens, on the other hand, gambling games like Gundatas and Poker are going on in full swing. If it’s all a height, each person will show his or her own uniqueness in Sankranti etiquette.

Similarly, Siyadula Someshwara Rao of Pithapuram in Kakinada district arranged a special dinner for his sons-in-law, daughters, sons-in-law and grandchildren who had come home for the Sankranti festival after settling into jobs and business elsewhere. An innovative home-cooked meal with all types of non-veg dishes has been arranged in an eight-foot spread.

Allulas were served first and the entire family ate together, sitting at a distance of eight feet. Son-in-law, daughters-in-law, son-in-law and grandchildren fed each other on the same plate and had a good feast amidst affection. During this period, when ready-made thalis with chemical colors started being used, they started being served on a large scale and showed their uniqueness. Chaati says Sankranti means everyone getting together and having fun.
