Karimnagar News: Mayor Sunil Rao attends Kashaydala of Karimnagar
Karimnagar News: BRS has suffered a major setback in Karimnagar. Yadgiri Mayor Sunil Rao has resigned from BRS. The resignation letter was sent to BRS chief KCR and he joined the BJP in the presence of BJP national general secretary and Union minister Bandi Sanjay, the mayor along with two corporators and a large number of workers.
He did not like the attitude of some leaders in BRS and wanted development and announced to join BJP thinking that the city would be developed under the leadership of Bandi Sanjay. The mayor got down from the car and joined the saffron army. MLA Gangula Kamlakar criticized and said that he has joined BJP to avoid corruption.
Union Minister Bandi Sanjay’s dream of hoisting the saffron flag on Karimnagar Corporation has come true. Mayor Sunil Rao said goodbye to BRS and by joining BJP, he gave a start to the campaign that has been going on for some time.
On the occasion of Republic Day, Sunil Rao, as Mayor, hoisted the national flag at the corporation office. Thus, with the unveiling of the BJP mayor’s flag, the BJP is assuming that the corporation has been taken over by the saffron leader hoisting the flag on the corporation. Along with the Mayor, there were rumors of many councilors also joining BJP.
However, local MLA Gangula Kamalakar along with KTR intervened and stopped the mayor and corporators from joining the BJP, so now only the mayor and corporators Sridevi Chandramouli and Lekkala Swapan Venu have joined the BJP. Sunil Rao told Bandi Sanjay that he is including 20 corporators, but Bandi Sanjay announced that those who have cases of corruption and land grabbing will not be included in the party.
Politics of hot Karimnagar
The politics of Karimnagar has heated up after Mayor Sunil Rao said goodbye to BRS and joined BJP. After the assembly elections, migration from other parties to the ruling party is common, but recently the change of party of the Mayor of Karimnagar has created a sensation. This decision created a stir in the BRS party.
Although the decision taken by Mayor Sunil Rao is not a big surprise when the tenure of the municipal corporation governing body ends in four days, BRS circles are fuming. City BRS president Challa Harishankar along with MLA Gangula Kamalakar and several corporators criticized the mayor. The Mayor also reacted strongly to the MLA.
MLA changed party to avoid corruption!
MLA Gangula Kamlakar opened fire on Mayor Sunil Rao. He alleged that due to selfishness of power, he changed the party to avoid corruption. He criticized Sunil Rao’s habit of joining whichever party is in government. He said that he had already told the leadership that party changers should not be given preference.
Gangula Kamlakar said that we made a mistake by making Sunil Rao the mayor…we ask the people to forgive us. He said that Sunil Rao left the party because he felt that poverty had gone away. He said that if there is corruption in Manor Riverfront, then any kind of investigation can be done as alleged by the Mayor. Sunil Rao, who joined the ruling BJP at the Centre, made it clear that corruption will be exposed. Gangula Kamlakar warned that if he did not control his mouth, he would be thrown out.
Gangula Kamalkar-Mayor’s address on corruption
Mayor Sunil Rao was very angry with MLA Gangula Kamlakar. He accused Gangula Kamlakar of unearthing corruption. He criticized the role of MLA Gangula in the scams and irregularities in the city. If he commits corruption he is ready for any investigation… are you ready? He issued an open challenge. He alleged that the MLA only wants tender and commission, apart from commission no work will be done. It is alleged that Gangula used to go to Bangkok, Dubai and Pattaya and Gangula has a history of going to Sri Lanka and asking for maps.
Gangula cautioned that talking about smart cities is a matter of caution. He said that due to the efforts of Bandi Sanjay, Smart City got Rs 930 crore. Many corporators were ready to leave BRS, but Bratimaali allegedly stopped them from hosting the party. He criticized that it was KCR and Vinod Kumar who gave him the chance to become mayor in BRS and Gangula Kamlakar is stopping him from getting the post of mayor. Sunil Rao made it clear that he had joined BJP thinking that only Bandi Sanjay would develop the city.
Mayor who shocked brother-in-law
Vinod Kumar took a dig at Sunil Rao, who always supported him and greeted him lovingly by calling him brother-in-law. He hoped to make Sunil Rao a strong force in Karimnagar, where he had little control, by inducting Sunil Rao into the party and making him mayor. He is expected to be a trusted leader in Karimnagar as he is a close relative of his social class. But those close to Vinod Kumar, who belongs to the intellectual class, are now saying that he is not going to be disappointed by the unimaginable politics that took place in Karimnagar.
Sunil Rao, who lost the mayoral bid from the Congress party in the 2015 municipal elections, was joined by former MP Vinod Kumar. He remained an active leader in the BRS party for five years. He had contested the Municipal Corporation elections to be held in 2020 with the hope of getting the post of Mayor. Despite Gangula Kamlakar’s opposition, Vinod Kumar insisted on Sunil Rao’s name. Vinod has revealed this on many occasions. In such a situation, a mayor was shocked to know that Tira had worked against him in the Lok Sabha elections.
Vinod Kumar remained silent because the party was not in power, although he tried to keep it away for some time. It was believed that he would remain in the Municipal Corporation till the end of his tenure. Vinod Kumar must have been shocked to hear the mayor’s speech in the general meeting praising Sanjay Bandi for the smart city at the last moment. If you think that if you get the post of Mayor, you will see happiness in your brother-in-law’s eyes, then taking a separate place here and there has become a topic of discussion.
