Rajinikanth, who completed his schooling from APS School in Bengaluru, now remembers his days spent in that school. Rajni shared a video during the APS special alumni event. “I should have been with you. But I am shooting a film in Bangkok. I am proud to have attended an APS school and college. Earlier the middle school was in Gavipura. I studied in Kannada medium. Then I was first in the class. I am a good reader. Also class leader.
Later I joined English medium and failed. As soon as I got good marks in Kannada, my elder brother got me admitted to APS English Medium School. I was worried about putting a complete Kannada medium person into English medium. I went into depression. All the teachers at APS High School understood my difficulty and taught me. Although I passed classes eight and nine, I failed in the public examination of class ten. Later a teacher took special care of me and gave me tuition. With that I passed,” said Rajinikanth.
Towards the field of drama during college days…
On this occasion, Rajinikanth also told when he got interested in films. “Even though I had little interest in drama during my school days, I took admission in college from APS School. Due to some reasons, I could not continue my studies. I used to participate in inter school competitions during school days. Before participating in competitions, I used to tell various stories in front of my friends. The teachers also knew that I had played the role of Chandaal in Adi Shankar’s play.
“Our play has paid off. We won. That day I also received the Best Actor Award. This is what has made him a professional now. Now the effort is to entertain as many children as possible. This is all because of APS schools and colleges. It makes me feel proud. The APS building, the grounds, the days spent there, the games played, none of it can be forgotten. When I went to that school, our house was in Hanuman Nagar. Near Big Ganesh Temple. It was a proud moment,” Rajinikanth recalled of those days.
