The MLA here is also Telugu. But he will go to Puducherry Assembly. Puducherry, the capital of Yanam, is in a remote area.

Yanam Ummadi has an area of 30 square kilometers in East Godavari. However..with the division of districts, Yanam lies between Kakinada and Ambedkar Konseema districts. All Yanam activities take place from Puducherry. If not, the lifestyle of the people will be in the culture and traditions here. Yanam was earlier known as Kalyanapuram. Because child marriage was banned in the country by the Saradha Act in 1929, child marriages were still taking place in the Yanam region.
