Saireddy Resignation: Vijayasai Reddy’s resignation.. What happened behind the scenes… Strategic.. Did you get rid of it?
Sayreddy’s resignation: YCP MP Vijayasai Reddy has resigned from the party. He announced that he was withdrawing from active politics. Along with him, Alla Ayodhya Ramireddy also resigned. Everyone was surprised when prominent leaders of YCP resigned from the party on the same day. Sai Reddy, who enjoyed undisputed power at the No. 2 position in the YCP, unexpectedly quit politics.
YCP President Jaganmohan Reddy unexpectedly ended the journey that started with Sai Reddy’s business management responsibilities. Sai Reddy has been traveling with Jagan even before he entered politics. Despite publicity in YCP circles that the distance between the two had grown over the years, he was given important responsibilities a few months before the elections. It seems that Sai Reddy has resigned in view of the developments after his defeat in the general elections.
Close ones say that ever since Jagan removed Vijaya Sai Reddy from the responsibility of YCP Uttarandhra in 2022, the distance between the two has increased. After YCP came to power in 2019, Sai Reddy demonstrated unassailable authority. Sai Reddy took place after Jagan in YCP. In this sequence, he did not get along well with other prominent leaders of his party.
Sai Reddy became the focal point of controversies that arose mainly in Visakhapatnam in North Andhra. Visakhapatnam has become the center of land disputes, allegations of compromise and criticism from the opposition. With this he became alone in the fight for supremacy in the party. He had to face competition from people like YV Subbareddy on one side and Sajjala on the other. In this sequence, in 2022, Sai Reddy was exceptionally removed from the post of in-charge of Uttarandhra.
After leaving the responsibility of Uttarandhra, Sai Reddy did not even come to Tadepalli with Arnela. Stay away from party activities. Sai Reddy had to hand over the responsibility of the party for reasons such as the leaders who replaced him did not work effectively and did not show aggression against the opponents. After about a year, Sai Reddy was given the responsibility of the party’s affiliated departments. After this he was given the responsibility of South Coast districts for a few months. Prakasam, Tirupati, Narasaraopeta and Nellore districts were handed over to Sai Reddy.
During the elections Sai Reddy was actively involved in the selection of candidates as well as election management and coordination. The results changed after the election defeat. Controversy arose. Sai Reddy personally got into trouble. On the other hand, to assess the reasons for the party’s defeat, YCP leaders say that Jaganmohan Reddy felt that leaders who did important work between 2019-24 suffered more losses due to his mannerisms. People close to him say he was hurt by holding key leaders responsible for the party’s defeat and other issues. Along with Sai Reddy, Ayodhya Ramireddy also resigned from the party.
Is it because of deep fear?
According to reliable sources, the reason behind the resignation of YCP leaders is the fear of lawsuits due to political reasons. Vijayasai Reddy is already a co-accused in several cases pending against Jagan Mohan Reddy. After YCP’s defeat, another case was registered against him. There is apprehension in political circles that there has been a fresh political development in this matter. The issue of Kakinada Sea Port has been creating a stir in AP politics for the last few days. In this case, unexpectedly the news came out that the sale held a few days ago has been cancelled. It is being suspected that there is something else behind Sai Reddy’s resignation two days later.
Who benefits from resignations?
There is also suspicion of a strategic move in YCP behind the resignation of two MPs on the same day. At present YCP is limited to only 11 seats in Andhra Pradesh. The party has only three MPs in the Lok Sabha. BJP needs MPs in Rajya Sabha. They have to depend on others to pay major bills. In this sequence, if YCP members resign then BJP can fill the vacant posts.
In the background of numerical strength, TDP-BJP alliance will achieve them. Along with Sai Reddy and Ayodhya Ramireddy in the political circles of AP, one more MP will also resign. Bidmastan Rao, R Krishnaiah and Mopidevi have already resigned from YCP’s Rajya Sabha membership. Beda Mastan Rao and R Krishnaiah were re-elected MPs. Sana Satish from TDP won. Now if some more seats become vacant then they will go to the alliance’s account. There is also a campaign that the resignations of YCP MPs may have been due to personal reasons but they happened with the consent of Jagan.
