Singarayakonda tragedy: Tragedy befalls a family who had come to take a dip in the sea during festival holidays. Family members and relatives who participated in Sankranti celebrations for three days came for sea bathing. The women walked separately into the sea and drowned in the strong waves. The women of the family were bathing separately in the sea when a big wave swept away four of them.
Local fishermen from the same area and youth from other areas who had gone to the sea for bathing became alert and saved one, but three died. It happened on Thursday afternoon at Pakala beach in Singarayakonda mandal of Prakasam district. 20 close relatives of Shivannapalem of Thimmapalem gram panchayat in Ponnalur mandal of Prakasam district came to Pakala beach on Thursday morning to take a dip in the sea.
While going to bathe in the sea on Thursday, the waves were strong. Since there were pits where they landed in the sea, the women suddenly suffocated. Five people were swept away in the waves. As others screamed, the marines alerted them and brought them to safety. Nosina Madhav (26), Nosina Jessica (16) and Kondabattina Yamini (19) of Kollagunta have already died. Madhav’s wife Navya was rescued by the marine personnel.
Due to this incident there was a tragedy on Pakala Beach. Screams of the relatives of the deceased can be heard. Tammishetti Pawan Kumar (22) of Singarayakonda, who had gone to take bath on the same beach, also lost his life due to the waves. As soon as information about the accident was received, Prakasam SPAR Damodar reached the spot and ordered the employees to search for the missing youth. The bodies were sent for post-mortem.
Go alone without men…
After the Sankranti festival, two groups came for sea bathing with their relatives and friends. Six of them went missing. Four died. Nosina Madhav (24) of Bimmupalem village Shivannapleni in Ponnalur mandal, his wife Navya (21), Pinni Nosina Suvarnaraj’s younger sister Nosy Jessica (13), Kondabattina Yamini (14) of Kollakunta village Maradalu Kandukuru mandal along with 10 other relatives came Were. Eyewitnesses said that when men went to the beach to urinate, women went into the sea first. At the place where they landed in the sea, there was a small hole and as they were moving, suddenly waves came and overpowered them. Madhav, Navya, Jessica, Yamini, Suvarnarani were swept away in our dreams.
Navya and Suvarnarani were rescued by local fishermen who saw them floating on the ocean waves. After some time, the bodies of Madhav, Jessica and Yamini were found on the waves. The police took him out and admitted him to Kandukur Area Hospital.
At the same time, Tammiretti Pawan (22) of Singarayakonda Sriramnagar area also came to Pakala beach for bathing with his friends. He was swept away into the sea by the waves. He was searched.
