Suryapet Crime: A horrific incident took place in Suryapet district. Kamandhu’s death at the hands of Kanna’s child’s wives caused a sensation. The murder of the wives of the deceased, who were sisters, created a stir.
Jamuna Ratnavat Saidulu was murdered in the early hours of Monday at Gurrantanda in Chivvenla mandal of Suryapet district. According to villagers, Ratnavat Saidulu (40) of Gurram Thanda worked as a car driver. In 2003, he fell in love with Ramya of Koduru village in Nakirekal mandal and got married.
The couple have two daughters. In 2013, Saidu also married his younger sister Sumalatha, who was home at the time of Ramya’s delivery, and she became pregnant. Saidulu-Sumalatha couple have a son. Both families are living in Horse Tail.
The youngest daughter of the Saidulu-Ramya couple had died of illness six months ago. The elder daughter is studying B.Tech in a college in Hyderabad. When Sankranti holidays arrived, his daughter had come to her native village. Father Saidulu took his daughter to Suryapet for shopping on Sunday and bought clothes.
After coming home, when the daughter was changing into new clothes, Saidulu misbehaved with her. Then he told his mother what had happened. At that time Ramya had a fight with her husband. She told her younger sister what had happened.
Saidulu came home drunk on Sunday night and on Monday morning Jamuna again misbehaved with her elder daughter who was sleeping at home. He immediately woke up his mother and told her what had happened. Angered by this, Ramya and her younger sister Sumalata hit Saidu on the head with a pestle. She was murdered by strangulation. Later the local people were informed about the matter. On receiving the information, Suryapet DSC Ravi, CI Nagara Ju. SI V. Maheshwar reached the spot and collected information. A case of murder has been registered and investigation is underway.
