The Railway Department, which has recently completed the final location survey, has started preparation of its alignment and DPR. It seems that the DPR will be submitted to the Railway Board by June. 1. To ensure that goods trains do not enter the main stations of Hyderabad city, a plan has been prepared for the Outer Ring Rail Project.

2. To build it at a distance of 2 to 4 km on the other side of the proposed Regional Ring Road, the Railway Department has done the preliminary alignment with Lidar.

3. After the alignment of the southern part of the Regional Ring Road is finalized, its alignment will be finalized. The Central Government had sanctioned Rs 12.64 crore in the last budget for the final location survey. The responsibility of consultancy has been entrusted to a private company based in Hyderabad.

4. The length of Outer Ring Rail is likely to be 394 to 420 km. 70 to 80 meter wide land will be collected. The cost of land acquisition will be borne by the Central and State Governments. It is estimated that land acquisition alone will cost around Rs 7 thousand crores.

5. This project is likely to have around 23 to 25 railway stations. Freight yards will be built for goods trains in key areas.
