Tirumala stampede: ‘How did they allow so many people..?’ CM Chandrababu is serious about TTD officials

Chief Minister Chandrababu Babu inspected the Tirumala stampede incident area. On this occasion, the District Collector and TTD officials became serious. He expressed displeasure at the officials as to why arrangements were not made properly. He warned that they should learn to work in a systematic manner.

“I tell everyone.. learn to work according to the law. When any responsibility is taken, it should also be implemented. Don’t think that this is ridiculous. When they knew that only 2000 people would die, they did 2500. How were people given permission? What kind of instructions were given to the officers while performing their duties? CM Chandrababu said seriously, give me a copy of whatever order has been given.

Chief Minister Chandrababu issued orders to fine those responsible and immediately suspend them. He expressed anger over why the original coordination committee meeting was not held. CM Chandrababu said that the preliminary report has been received which clearly shows the failure of the authorities in the entire incident.

TTD EO Shyamala Rao answered many questions asked by CM Chandrababu. Ivo Shyamala Rao said that arrangements have been made as before. Chandrababu asked that now it is not like before.. We should make a new plan for ourselves. Ivo was asked if there were any new ideas. “I tell everyone… learn to work systematically. Chandrababu made it clear that when he takes responsibility, he should work accordingly.

Chandrababu’s advice to the victims

Chief Minister Chandrababu met the injured undergoing treatment in Swami. Details of medical services received by the victims were sought. Doctors were advised to provide better medical services.

The AP government has announced ex-gratia to the families of those killed in the stampede incident in Tirupati. It said each family would be given a compensation of Rs 25 lakh. On the other hand, several ministers met the family members of the deceased at Tirupati Ruya Hospital. He met the injured and inquired about medical services.
