Tragedy at Telangana Mental Health Center: One Mara, 70 Vomiting and Diarrhea

Telangana Government Mental Health Center (IMH) died and about 70 people vomited and diarrhea. The event took place on Tuesday. Officials have started an investigation into it.

Officials said that a person was unconscious on Tuesday morning. The medical staff immediately CPR in the hospital but did not have the result. He was later taken to Osmania General Hospital (OGH) where he was declared dead. Hyderabad District Collector Anudeep Durishti visited IMH and the media came to know about these details.

The situation is stable:

About 70 other patients were suffering from vomiting and diarrhea. Two of them were taken to Osmania Hospital for low blood pressure. However, the collector said that his situation was nothing serious. The rest of the patients were kept under consideration in mental hospitals. A team of special doctors was brought for his treatment. The collector has made it clear that the situation of all is stable.

The test is going on:

The District Collector said that samples collected from the water resources of the hospital were sent to the State Government Institute of Preventive Medicine (IPM). There was no problem in those reports. Other samples collected from the water distribution network have also been sent for analysis, along with their report.

Patients are analyzing stool and vomiting patterns to find out if the food model eaten on Tuesday is toxic. The District Collector said that after receiving the report, the real cause of the problem will be known. He said that an alternative water source has been installed.

Meanwhile, Minister of State for Health C. Damodara Rajnarasimha spoke to the officials on the issue and issued necessary orders, official sources said.
