TV serial: Continuous with over 2000 episodes – aired for seven years – current longest running Telugu serial

TV Serial: Gundamma Katha serial telecast in Zee Telugu has created a new record. Gundamma Katha holds the record for the longest running TV serial not only on Zee Telugu channel but also among the serials currently airing in Telugu. Recently this serial has completed 2000 episodes. Gundamma Katha became the first TV serial on Zee Telugu to complete two thousand episodes.

Only five serials…

Before Gundamma Katha, more than 2000 episodes of only five serials were broadcast in Telugu. Out of those, four serials are of ETV…one serial Star was telecast on our channel. Abhishekam, aired on ETV, holds the record for the longest serial in Telugu with 4000 episodes. This was followed by Aadade Aadharam (3329 episodes), Manasu Mamta (3305 episodes) and Attarintiki Daredi (2344 episodes). Star Malo’s telecast Kumkuma Faavu serial is in top five with 2501 episodes. After these five serials is Gundamma Katha.

Beginning of 2018…

Gundamma Katha serial started in April 2018. After completing seven years, it has entered its eighth year. Gundamma Katha serial starred Pooja Murthy, Sushma Kiran, Honey Harshala, Sridevi, Devisri and Munna in lead roles.

third generation…

Currently this serial is being telecast at 1:30 pm. The makers are taking this serial forward according to the generations. Recently the third generation of Gundamma story has started, Pooja Murthy, Velu Kshatriya, Vaishnavi and Hemalatha are going to be seen in the third generation.
