Vijayawada Metro: Bezwara is not useful for half metro alignment .. DPR in western region…
Vijayawada Metro: Vijayawada, which is part of the guarantee of the division of Andhra Pradesh, has become a warm subject in the DPR of Visakha Metro projects in Vijayawada city. There is a debate on how much its original goal is possible with the first step in the first way to ignore the city in Vijayawada.
Ten years offer …
Vijayawada Metro Project Proposals have been filled for ten years. Vijayawada Metro is negotiating under the leadership of Sreedharan, designed by Delhi Metro Project and Konkan Railway Project. After that, Sreedharan was out of Vijayawada Metro talks. He was replaced by Ramakrishna Reddy, an important person in the Hyderabad Metro Project.
The Vijayawada Metro project was initially increased rapidly and then returned with the problem of land acquisition. In the city of Vijayawada, there has been a fierce protest against the local people over the purchase of metro. The project was delayed by objections on the objections on the land valuable by the government on the Chief Mahatma Gandhi Road and Eluru Road for the construction of the metro.
Instead of Metro Vijayawada, various proposals including Prakash Metro and low land acquisition have come to light. Five years later, YCP came to power in 2019. After the YCP came to power, the Amravati Metro Rail Project was completely sidelined. Metro projects from the Center to Vijayawada and Visakha have been ignored for one and five years as part of partition guarantee. When the coalition government was formed again in 2024, the movement of Vijayawada Metro began.
again again …
DPR has been preparing to consider only one area in the city since the early days of Vijayawada Metro. For this, the most crowded western part of the city of the metro project was ignored. It was planned to ignore the old stronghold area of the city. Currently, there is only 15-20 lakh population including villages around Vijayawada city. The metro corridor will be installed on only two major roads in the city. Durga Gudi, Old Basti Kaleshwar Rao Market and Vijayawada railway station, which is located within one kilometer of Pandit Nehru bus station, did not make part of the metro project.
Small gaze on western …
There is also doubt on how many people will travel from Pandit Nehru bus station and end two corridors. Vijayawada railway station currently has five routes. There are two terminals in the west. Passengers who want to travel to destinations from the railway station, they will go on alternative routes instead of a kilometer journey.
On the west side of the city, there has been a significant increase in urbanization in ten years in the west Basti, Bhavani Puram, Golapuri and Ibrahim Patnam areas. Half of the city’s population lives in the western region. In the latest DPR, Vijayawada has completely ignored the western region. Auto mobile sector and service sector are mainly in the areas of Vijayawada. For this, a large number of employment will travel from west to east. They have no use with the current design.
If the metro corridors start as a bastard junction, no use will be made with college students except college students. There have been criticisms that corridors are designed to ignore comprehensive interests and public transport objectives. In the first phase, most passengers failed to provide connectivity.
Estimate with Rs 11,000 crore …
The AP government has already approved Vijayawada-Amvati Metro Rail DPR. The corridor will be built in Vijayawada Metro Project Phase -1. A total of 38.4 km of the project will be made. Vijayawada Metro Project DPR has been presented to the state government by the Metro Rail Corporation. The government has estimated a total of Rs 11,009 crore for the first phase of Vijayawada Metro Rail Project. The Metro Rail Corporation DPR has prepared the state government to give Rs 1152 crore for land acquisition. The third corridor of Vijayawada Metro Phase -2 was about 27.75 km.
The state government’s plan is to construct two phases up to Vijayawada Metro Corridor 1A in Pandit Nehru bus stand, corridor 1B at Panemalur in Pandit Nehru bus stand and two phases up to Amravati in the third corridor Pandit at Pandit Nehru bus stand. Half of these three corridors left Vijayawada city. The metro has not been participated in the residential areas in the Vijayawada Central Constituency with the old settlement.
