Warangal: Movement to remove dump yard .. struggle of people of three villages!
There are 66 divisions under the Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation, of which 2.25 lakh houses. Its population is up to 11 lakhs. Every day from Greater Warangal area, wet and dry waste comes up to 450 metric tons. In 2007, a dump yard was set up on about 32 acres of land in the suburban area of Madikonda. About 7 lakh tonnes of garbage has already been dumped in that dump yard. Arrangements have been made to treat up to 3 lakh tonnes of garbage through bio-marining. In 2021 itself, biomming was started with Rs 36 crore. But the work is going on slow. Due to this, garbage heaps are increasing day by day in the dump yard.
Burning smoke ..
Earlier, 3 lakh tonnes of waste dumped in the dump yard is being treated by bio-marining. The problem is getting more difficult due to the new pile of garbage. There is no other way to dump new garbage. Due to this, all the garbage is being stored in it. The fire is spreading.
Diseases are coming ..
The smoke emanating from the fire is engulfing the surrounding villages. Every night smoke emanating from the dump yard is engulfing the areas around Madikonda, Tex Tile Park, Rampur, Elkurthi, Model Colony and Ring Road. People of the villages related to this are having trouble breathing. This problem has been bothering us for years. As a result, villagers of Madikonda and Rampur are often affected by diseases.
mass movement
The problem of dump yard is especially more for Madikonda and Rampur villages. As a result, the people of Rampur and Madikonda have been demanding to move the dump yard from here for almost a decade. Till now the problem has been told to government officials. But the rulers did not care about it. People from villages around the dump yard are still upset.
Request from officials ..
People from Madikonda, Rampur and Erkurthi villages started a movement as the rulers did not pay attention to their problem. Preparations have been made for the movement by forming a committee of about 40 people. On the 19th of this month, a meeting was held under the ad hoc committee in Madikonda. A rally was organized in Madikonda on Monday. Collector Hanumakonda presented the petitions to Pravinya. He warned that the Madikonda dump yard should be removed from there .. If this does not happen then the movement will be done.
