What is the name of the island prison in San Francisco Bay?Answer – Alcatraz – Starting in 1853, The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers began fortifying the famous island located off the coast of San Francisco Bay known as Alcatraz in an effort to protect the growing Bay area.
