Nadendla rice Price: Price control plan of Nadendla stuck at Aranela in AP, rice missing, control imposed on oil

Nadendla Rice Price: The price control of rice and pulses cooking oil by the coalition government in Andhra Pradesh has ended in a hurry. Although the market has loudly announced that it is trying to control the prices of essential commodities, in practice they have remained silent. Since the government machinery succumbed to pressure from mill owners and wholesalers, price control came to a halt. Whatever happened behind this entire matter is generating interest among everyone.

After coming to power, the AP government initiated measures to reduce the prices of essential commodities to some extent, which is placing an unbearable burden on the people. When the coalition government came to power, it took steps to dismantle the civil service system.

Andhra Pradesh government has taken steps to reduce the prices of rice and pulses. The government had initiated measures in July last year to control rising prices in the last few months. On one hand, thousands of crores of rupees have been spent and the Civil Supplies Department is supplying rice to every home at cheap prices, but the prices of quality rice are continuously increasing in the open market.

Mill owners have been artificially increasing rice prices since the time of Migzam cyclone in 2023. At one time the price of a 26 kg bag had crossed Rs 1600. The price of one kg in the retail market has reached Rs 70. If the situation continues like this, the price of one kg will become Rs 100, people are worried. The party has sunk due to YCP’s lack of attention to the issue of fixing rice prices.

The laborers and middle class people were pretending to be asleep. Although there was no need to increase the prices of rice in Andhra Pradesh, they facilitated open plunder. It was expected that after the formation of a coalition government in the general elections in the state, the public would clean up the civil service system.

In July last year, the coalition government had decided to sell pulses and rice to farmers at lower prices. Andhra Pradesh state Civil Supplies Minister Nandla Manohar had announced last July that prices of essential commodities like rice, pulses and boiled rice would be reduced and sold in the markets. In the open market, it has been announced that pulses costing Rs 181 per kg will be sold at Rs 160, rice costing Rs 52.40 at Rs 48 and rice costing Rs 55.85 at Rs 49. He said special counters have been set up in farmers’ markets and rice, pulses and boiled rice are being sold at lower prices.

Three months of love…

The price of rice available on ration card is Rs 43.50 per kg. But since these are all paddy varieties, more than 80 percent of the rice supplied by the government goes waste. In this sequence, the sale of small rice at low prices filled everyone with happiness.

The government has ordered malls and wholesalers to make arrangements to sell good rice at Rs 49. But it was not implemented for exactly three-four months. The mill owners raised their hands saying that there is no situation to sell thin variety of rice at Rs 49.

It was believed that the NDA coalition government was serious about reducing the prices of edible oil and rice, but in reality this did not happen. Some measures taken by civil supplies did not yield much results. At the same time, millers and wholesalers were successful in putting pressure on the government that their business was suffering losses due to reduction in prices. Due to this, these boards and prices have disappeared from the market for the last two months. The sale of cooking oil, rice and pulses at subsidized prices has been destroyed without any fanfare. During the festive season, they were able to buy rice and oil at higher prices.
