Wipro Job Alert: The country’s fourth largest IT services company Wipro has said that the recruitment of freshers is expected to be between 10,000-12,000 in the next financial year. It also attempted to address concerns about upcoming changes to the H-1B visa policy in the US. It said a large portion of its employees are Native American.

‘We are hiring in large numbers. Currently a significant portion of our employee base in the US is local. We have a good list of H1B visas. “So employees can be moved as and when required,” said Saurabh Govil, Wipro’s chief human resources officer. Wipro’s employee headcount declined by 1,157 in Q3FY25. The number of employees in the second quarter of FY 2025 was 2,33,889, but it decreased to 2,32,732 in the third quarter.

Govil said the company has honored all its pending proposals. He said that as of the end of the third quarter, all backlogs have been closed and there are no previous proposals pending. He said that all the pending proposals have been respected. The company keeps hiring 2,500-3,000 freshers every quarter. Thus, we will add 10,000-12,000 freshers every financial year,” he said.

In the third quarter of the current financial year, Wipro’s consolidated net profit increased by 24.5 percent to Rs 3,353.8 crore from Rs 2,694.2 crore. Income from operations in the December quarter stood at Rs 22,319 crore.
