Land mafia is dominant in Rajanna Sircilla district. The government acquired the land. Some have encroached upon more than a thousand acres of government land in Tangallapally, Ilanthakunta, Ellareddypeta and Sirisila mandals and have become railway workers. More than 250 acres of land was looted in Saradapur, Peddur, Ellareddypet villages of Ellareddypet mandal, Gopal Ravapalli, Laxmipur, Taduru, Ankusapur and Papayyapalli villages of Tangallapalli mandal.

According to the information received so far, officials have found that Dodidran track has been issued to 100 people. The price of land here is up to Rs 50 lakh per acre. This means that government land worth Rs. 125 crore has become fertile. Apart from this, investment assistance of more than Rs 2 crore given by the Central and State Government in five years has been deposited in the accounts of ineligible people. Officials suspect that there has been large-scale encroachment on land in many villages across the district.

There is 1,650 acres of government land in survey number 545 in Tangallapalli mandal Lakshmipur, three kilometers from Sirisilla. Four villages are connected to the border of this land. In which 40 people obtained degrees illegally. While cleaning the land records, local MLA KTR noticed that local leaders collected huge amounts of money and applied with the encroachers and ensured that land titles were issued.

Revenue officials also issued passbooks of graduates without following the rules. The encroachers have taken advantage of the land registry clean-up program launched between 2017-19 by the previous government to provide ‘Ryatubandhu’ investment assistance on cultivable land and have encroached upon government land and acquired ownership. After Congress came to power, Rajanna Sircilla district officials paid special attention to land grabbing and illegal raids started coming to light one by one.

Government Whip Adi Srinivas alleged that the issue of land grab that has come to light is only a part of it and even the Telangana Bhavan built by BRS in Sircilla has been built by occupying government land. It is clear that no action should be taken against the encroachers.

The authorities are paying special attention to illegal land acquisition and the government is handing over the illegally acquired land to the government. Former Sarpanch of Lakshmipur Mittapalli, Padma, has written a letter to the District Collector asking him to take back the two acres of government land given to him. ,

Lakshmi handed over the documents of illegally acquired land to Collector Sandeep Kumar Jha and SP Akhil Mahajan at the Collectorate. Similarly, a person named Kumaraswamy has submitted the land documents to the government in the presence of the Collector and SP and has told that he has been in possession of the 3 acres of land allotted in Sarampalli for the last few years. The Collector said that the land will be used for the poor and housing. He asked anyone who was illegally occupying government land to come forward voluntarily and hand it over to the government.

Five cases-many arrested

Land related irregularities are coming to light in Rajanna Sirisila district. Complaints are continuously coming to the police. Five cases have already been registered and BRS’s Boli Rammohan, Vojjala Aggiramulu, Jindam Devadas, Koduri Bhaskar and Surbhi Naveen Rao have been arrested. SP Akhil Mahajan said that complaints have been received against 12 more people, action will be taken after investigating them.

Congress leader among the encroachers…

BRS alleges that Congress leaders are also among those who illegally encroach on government land. BRS leaders say Congress leaders should get the land handed over to the government as railways in the ten years from 2004 to 2014 when Congress was in power. The details have been handed over to the authorities. They also want action against him. The officials conducted a thorough investigation and collected details of those who had illegally occupied government land and were engaged in seizure work.

At that time, new passbooks were also issued for barren lands except hills, stones which were not cultivable and forests where seeds did not germinate. At that time, having a passbook was enough to provide investment assistance to illegal people without any land inspection at the field level. Government abstract Lavuni and Doddidari titles have been obtained for the forest land.

Although there are recommendations from state and district level public representatives, there are allegations that at some places revenue officials have been given powers despite rules to the contrary. The authorities are ready to issue demand notices to those who own government land and have received Rythu Bandhu funds.
