FTL Nirdaristam – Hydra Commissioner
Speaking on the occasion, Hydra Commissioner Ranganath said that there will be no scope for dispute in the matter of Durgam Talab FTL. He said that along with concerned government departments, engineers from educational institutions like IIT, Bitspilani, JNTU will also participate in the determination of FTL. He clarified that all departments like National Remote Sensing Center (NRSC), Survey of India, Survey of Telangana, Revenue, Irrigation, GHMC, H MDA will participate in it and solve the problem.
A study using scientific methods…
Ranganath clarified that the final report will be prepared after studying NRSC satellite images and Survey of India records using scientific methods. Ranganath examined the objections of nearby residents on the preliminary notification given earlier by HMDA regarding Durgam Lake FTL. After this the arguments of the residents were recorded.
Representatives of all the six colonies participated in this program and handed over the information they had to Ranganath, who is the chairman of the Lake Conservation Committee. Objections have been presented regarding FTL. The colonists demanded a solution to the 25-year-old problem regarding the inaccessible lake, FTL and buffer zone.
He said that in 25 years the Lake Conservation Committee never listened to him openly. He said that he was very happy that Hydra Commissioner Ranganath assured that he would invite him to the Hydra Head Office and listen to his objections in the matter of FTL and find a solution.
“Each department has been doing separate calculations on FTL for decades. Ponds are disappearing at other places.. Here this pond is increasing FTL. Actually it is 65.12 acres.. Now every department is giving different calculations. “Social media and some media organizations are portraying themselves as occupiers,” the colonists said. Many people complain that they are not able to build houses on the vacant sites there… and are also not able to sell their houses to meet their needs.
“In the year 2000, the pond was filled due to heavy rains…there was flood water in the surrounding areas. It’s called FTL which takes this into account. The dispute has been going on since then. Colony residents demand that their claims be considered once FTL is confirmed.
Ranganath made it clear that everyone’s arguments will be considered. He said that the limits of FTL will be determined by following scientific methods. He said that action would be taken without questioning anyone on the basis of survey numbers of Lake Memois and village records.
