Kakatiya University: Research is not progressing in K-Hub..Locks have not opened for ten months!

The Central Government has sanctioned Rs 50 crore for the Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) fund. With this money, K-Hub was built in Kakatiya University. All the work was completed less than one and a half years ago. The previous BRS government neglected to start it. The government has changed. Congress government was formed. Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, who took charge as minister, Konda Surekha, Seethakka and local leaders inaugurated the ‘K-Hub’ with much fanfare.

After 10 months of starting..

Despite it being ten months since its establishment, Kakatiya University authorities have been criticized for not removing the locks. In fact, RUSA has released Rs 50 crore for equipment for the construction of ‘K-Hub’. But there is criticism that university officials are not taking initiative to pursue research. Months pass but no steps are taken towards innovation. Appear with lock.

negligence of officials

The RUSA fund is to provide its own building, research center and infrastructure for the management of ‘K-Hub’ projects. For this, RUSA has released Rs 15 crore as the first installment in 2020. Along with this, ‘K-Hub’ construction work was done at a cost of Rs 6 crore under the aegis of Telangana State Educational Welfare Infrastructure Development Corporation. The work will be completed in 2022. But the then public representatives and officials did not pay much attention to opening the K-Hub.

Far away from research..

Since the previous government was not paying attention and students were away from research, the student union leaders here brought this problem to the attention of the leaders of the Congress government. After the formation of the Congress government, all the internal works in K-Hub were completed. Thereafter, Ponguleti, Konda Surekha, Seethakka, MLA Naini Rajendra Reddy and other leaders, who visited Warangal city on March 10, 2024, launched the ‘K-Hub’. Later, the university authorities locked down K-Hub.

Many research..

Rs 50 crore has been released by RUSA Funds for setting up the K-Hub, out of which Rs 6 crore has been allocated for the building and Rs 9 crore for the creation of infrastructure. Other research centers including Center for Drug Research, Central Instrumentation Centre, Center for Nano Drug Delivery System, Center for Molecules and Material Physics are to be established with Rs 23 crore.

This is how the funds were allocated.

The remaining Rs 12 crore should be spent on personal research of university teachers. When K-Hub comes into use, there is a possibility of research in areas like Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cyber Security, Pharmaceutical Science, Robotics, Geological Science etc. The same incubation center is useful for the research of the university as well as others.

criticism of officials

Even though K-Hub releases funds for research, it seems that the university authorities are not paying attention to it. The authorities here should take the initiative to organize a joint meeting and put the K-Hub into use in coordination with the UGC officials and KU officials. Criticisms are being expressed that K-Hub is not opening because Kakatiya University officials are not paying attention.

Even now, the local public representatives and the university authorities should take appropriate steps and take initiative to utilize the K-Hub established in Kakatiya University for research.. Student union leaders are demanding.
